Neiva is located in the valley of the Magdalena River in south central Colombia with a population of about 400,000 people. At a relatively low elevation of just over a thousand feet, Neiva has hot, tropical weather year round.
Gary and 23 team members ministered in several churches, a prison, a school, and in a local park. During the week, Gary and the team witnessed God do the following:

The above is a conservative report. Sometimes when God is moving it’s almost impossible to keep track of everything. Furthermore, improvements or partial healings are not counted—only healings that can be reasonably verified to be 100% complete on the spot. Sometimes we get reports of people receiving healing after the meeting, during the night, or even a day later. Those are not reflected in these numbers either. Let’s just say, God does a whole lot more than what we know about!
Here are just a few examples of what individual team members experienced:
The presence of Jesus in the park…
We will never forget Wednesday afternoon in the park. We were surrounded by people pressing in, stretching out their hands wanting prayer. Almost without exception they were all healed—and quickly. It was happening so fast, we asked one woman at what point she was healed. Her response was, “When I got close to you.”
Injured shoulder and cracked ribs healed!
A man walked up to us and started to unbutton his shirt. He explained he was on his way home from the hospital after having fallen at work. He cracked two ribs and badly injured his shoulder, unable to lift his arm. Before praying, we asked him to try and move his arm. Using his opposite hand and suffering terrible pain, he could only move his arm about an inch from his side. So we prayed and asked him to try again. Again, using his other hand he could move the arm about four inches from his side as he grimaced in pain. We prayed again… and then without assistance, he lifted his arm very nearly straight out from his elbow! He started to thank us and praise God, but we told him God wasn’t finished yet. We prayed yet again—and he then raised his arm straight above his head! While he was praising God and thanking us, we told him we still needed to pray for his ribs—but he replied all the pain was already gone! It disappeared as God was healing his shoulder!!
Man receives salvation, healing and deliverance!
One day in the park, a man came looking for me. He had seen me on previous days praying for vision impaired people and wanted prayer for his vision too. He couldn’t see clearly past eight feet away. As I laid my hands on his chest and began to pray for him, he immediately began to jerk and grimace. I discerned he was being tormented by a spirit as he fell to the sidewalk. I knelt beside him, rebuking the evil spirit and pleading the blood of Jesus over him. He finally came to his senses and became still. I and my translator explained to him he had manifested an evil spirit and asked if he wanted to be free of it. He enthusiastically agreed. Enquiring how he might have opened the door to that spirit, he immediately responded it was a curse put on him by a woman—one with whom he had an immoral relationship. We led him through a prayer of repentance for his sin—and to break the soul tie with the woman. We had him renounce the spirit of witchcraft and its power over him. He grimaced, choked and suffered through the whole prayer time. We then led him through a prayer for salvation and prayed for God’s strength. He was very, very relieved and finally felt free. And then we discovered, God had also healed his eyes while being delivered from the evil spirit! The man then told us something else. He also had ruptured disks in his back and those too were now healed!
Damaged eye healed!
A man came to us who had a bottle thrown at his eye damaging the retina. Before praying, we asked if he had forgiven the person who threw the bottle at him. He said no, because he didn’t know who did it. We told him it was’t necessary to know who did it in order to forgive them. He was willing to forgive the person, so we led him through a prayer of forgiveness. We could see God was touching this man, as tears ran down his face. We then prayed for his eye—and his vision was completely restored!
Woman healed of scoliosis!
My friend and I were called to pray for a young woman with scoliosis. She was visibly impaired, as she could neither bend over or move her head very much. So, we prayed for a straight spine and for her hips to be aligned. Suddenly, she bent over at the waist—and touched her fingers to the ground! Collapsing in tears, she told us she had NEVER been able to bend at the waist! My friend then heard the Holy Spirit telling us to finish and pray for the young lady’s neck. We prayed… and she started to moved her head from side to side! When all this happened, we didn’t initially understand the full impact of what had just occurred. It wasn’t until afterwards we learned how limited she had been—until that moment!
Partial blindness healed!
A man asked for prayer for partial blindness in his left eye. To test his eye, I had him cover his good eye with his hand. I then held up my fingers at various distances and asked how many fingers he could see. He could clearly count my fingers no further than 5 feet away. After prayer, I tested his eye again and he could easily count my fingers from 25 feet away! I experienced perhaps 6 or 7 similar healings that same day!
Damaged, painful knee healed!
Wednesday in the park, a young lady with an elastic bandage on her knee came up to us. She explained it was injured eight days earlier, when she fell off a motorcycle. The knee was painful and she couldn’t bend it. We prayed several times for it; and after the fourth time, she sat down and stood back up without pain! Her husband told us she couldn’t do that since the accident! Glory to God!
God touches a sickly hand!
I prayed over a woman’s hand. It was bad. Her middle finger, ring finger and little finger were stuck together with slime. When she separated them, they were completely raw in between. Half the hand was raw with bumps and slimy. After spending some time in prayer, all the slime disappeared. Most of the bumps disappeared and the swelling was down. The skin now looked pink instead of red—and the pain was totally gone!
Neck, shoulder, back and knee pain—all healed!
There was a lady with neck, shoulder and upper back pain, along with pain in both her knees. I sensed I was to pray for her knees first, so I laid my hands on her knees and prayed a short prayer. I asked her if there was any improvement. She responded, all the pain in her knees was gone! She checked several times for us…and it was gone! I was then going to pray for her neck, shoulder and back, but she said I did’t have to—all that pain in those areas had also left! Praise God!
Mother and son both receive healing!
A mother and her son came to us. The lady had both shaky hands and a heart problem. After prayer, her heartbeat returned to normal and her hands stopped shaking! She went on to explain her son had a learning disability and couldn’t remember what he learned. After we prayed for him, she started asking him multiplication problems—and he was answering her! Beginning to weep, she said he could never do that before!
Abdominal pain healed!
We prayed for a lady in the park who had abdominal and colon pain which wrapped around her like a belt. After praying and commanding the pain to leave and be healed, we found out it only hurt when she sat down. Nearby, a vendor had an extra stool, so we had her sit down. Her face lit up with the biggest smile ever, and tears begin to flow; she had absolutely no pain while sitting!
And many, many others!… Glory to God!
